From sketch to catwalk: exclusive details of the creation of the jumpsuit that has become a symbol of Ukrainian sport

This project is the result of cooperation between the Ukrainian Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation and talented creatives, including our art director, Dmytro. Together with the graffiti team TONKO SPORT, he created a unique visual manifesto that embodies speed, character, and modern Ukrainian identity.

The team sought to create not just a sports uniform, but a true visual manifesto that reflects the spirit of skeleton and modern Ukrainian identity. They were inspired by the aesthetics of newretrowave - bright neon colors, geometric patterns, neon gradients and the spirit of the 90s, which perfectly resonates with the dynamics and energy of this sport

In order to emphasize the feeling of speed and adrenaline, the designers used glitch effects that convey a sense of overload when an athlete is racing along the track at a speed of over 120 km/h. These “crashes” in reality symbolize the moment when a person is at the limit of his or her capabilities. The graffiti elements symbolize urban freedom, courage and rebellion against standards. The main palette is blue and yellow, the colors of our flag, which symbolize national identity, but with the addition of acidic shades for an even greater visual explosion. It is this combination of styles and elements that created that unique and recognizable image.

Creating such a unique shape is always a challenge for designers. The team worked in a mode of constant creative search and experimentation. From the first sketches on paper to their digital realization, each element of the shape was thoroughly analyzed and discussed.

“The most difficult thing was to find a balance between creativity and functionality, because the uniform should be not only stylish but also effective in extreme competition,” said Dmytro.

The result of the creative process was a real breakthrough. The team created not just a sports uniform, but a real work of art that impresses with its dynamics, style and energy. The jumpsuit became a symbol of hope and faith in victory, a reflection of the modern Ukrainian spirit - bold, creative and indomitable.
